MANIFESTO OF THE REPUBLIC OF KRUSHEVO
Proclamation of liberty and equality
The ideological principles of the revolutionary government received the most obvious expression in the Manifesto of the Republic of Krushevo, which laid out the goals and tasks of the revolution, emphasizing its commitment to democracy, fraternal harmony and the pursuit of unity among nations. By reaching out to the people in the surrounding Muslim villages, the manifesto championed the principles of the Macedonian revolution, urging all oppressed individuals, regardless of their national and religious affiliation, to join the ongoing struggle for freedom. The significance and magnitude of the Manifesto was evident in its bold declaration of freedom, equality, and democracy. That message of universal human rights, remarkably progressive for its time, was deeply engraved in the consciousness of the Macedonian people, permanently determining not only their fateful choice but also their future.
