In presence of many guests, politicians, representatives of the diplomatic missions, colleagues and associates, on 17 April 2019, the exhibition European Fashion of the Montenegrin Court – reflections from the National Museum of Montenegro, was officially opened.

Among the numerous guests at the opening were also present the President of the Assembly, Talat Xhaferi, Prime Minister Zoran Zaev, Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski and Deputy Minister of Culture Vladimir Lazovski.

In a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere, the director of the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle for Independence, Daniela Nikolova addressed the attendees:
“The exhibition European Fashion of the Montenegrin Court – reflections, which we realize with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of North Macedonia, aims to make a small historical overview of the fashion expressions of royal Montenegro, capturing the essence of life, social circumstances and the history of one past time in the Balkans, but also in Europe. “

The Director of the National Museum of Montenegro, Dr. Anastasia Miranovic, welcomed the attendees and emphasized that “the exhibits from the court treasury will be exposed for the first time outside the borders of Montenegro, right here in Macedonia, a friendly country with which we share a common Balkan space “.
Montenegrin Culture Minister Aleksandar Bogdanovic thanked the partners in organizing the exhibition and pointed out that “this exhibition offers a view of the Petrovic dynasty through a different perspective that reveals items that belonged to the private and protocol history of Petrovic family. Guided by an ambition that is focused on the illumination of that segment of the ruling dynasty, the curators of this exhibition enabled us to see the collection of clothes of their members, which is kept at the National Museum of Montenegro.”
The Minister of Culture of the Republic of North Macedonia declared the exhibition open with his conviction that “The exhibition will be a great provocation not only for the scientific and professional public. The studious approach of the exhibited items will have the opportunity to give a new interpretation of already known historical events and characters from the past, which will cause great interest among the museum visitors in the country. “
Special guests at the exhibition opening were the Quartet Filharmonija, which performed two works by P.I. Tchaikovsky and D. Shuplevski.
The exhibition is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of North Macedonia, and the realization was supported by the Ministry of Culture of Montenegro and the Embassy of Montenegro in Skopje. Visitors can see the exhibition by June 17, 2019.
